Expanding Capacity & Quality

New Processing Line Commissioned

Wondernut commissions a new macadamia processing line to meet growing export demand, improving efficiency and quality output.

In early 2025, Wondernut International EPZ Ltd officially commissioned a state-of-the-art macadamia processing line at its facility in Athi River, Kenya, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion and innovation strategy.
The new line — equipped with precision cracking, automated grading, and advanced sorting systems — increases production capacity while reinforcing Wondernut’s reputation for delivering consistently high-quality kernels to global markets.

Designed with efficiency and sustainability in mind, the new processing line integrates energy-efficient motors, automated air filtration, and waste-heat recovery systems, reducing the plant’s overall energy footprint. It also improves kernel handling accuracy, ensuring minimal breakage and optimal yield across all grades and styles.

“This upgrade allows us to serve our global clients faster, with even higher consistency and traceability,” said the Production Director at Wondernut International EPZ Ltd.
“It’s more than capacity expansion — it’s an investment in excellence and environmental stewardship.”

The system’s advanced monitoring controls allow real-time tracking of performance and quality metrics, aligning with Wondernut’s BRGSC AA, SMETA, UKAS, SGS and KEBS certification requirements. Each batch is fully traceable from orchard to export, strengthening the company’s transparency and quality assurance framework.

The expansion supports Wondernut’s vision to meet growing export demand in Asia, Europe, and North America while upholding its zero-waste processing commitment. Shells and husks from the new line are repurposed into biomass fuel and compost, ensuring that nothing goes to waste.

By combining technology, sustainability, and craftsmanship, Wondernut continues to define what responsible agribusiness means in East Africa.
This new investment reflects not only growth but a deeper promise — to deliver premium macadamia products while protecting the planet that makes it possible.
